Not quite antipodal. But separated by ~144 degrees of latitude and 188 of longitude almost counts. First we see my November 1992 - January 1993 meteorite hunting trip as the team explored part of the high plateau of Antarctica. In that trip, we found ~240 meteorites, but the main thing was the experience of being alone on an amazing ice sheet and surviving in a tent! The second part shows a trip in May/June 1989, when I went with NASA to Iceland to measure the topography of lava flows as a Mars analog. During this trip, we also got to travel around SW Iceland and see some of the interesting volcanic and glacial landforms.
