With my parents being posted to Africa and Germany during my secondary school years, they decided to send me to boarding school, the Duke of York's Royal Military School in Dover. I was there from 1961-68 for my complete secondary education.
Being a military school it will surely be no surprise that we wore uniforms and marched around a lot, including to meals 3 times a day. The end of term Grand Days were full of parading and in my final year I was the Colour Sergeant Major (CSM), handing over the colours to the selected guard house as part of the parade.
A boarding school life is full of sports and other activities, as you can see from the cricket, rugby, hockey and choir photos. Plus I really enjoyed the Gilbert and Sullivan operas that we performed.
