Cliff Mark was a Lance corporal in the 21st Army Group, Second Army Signals. Much against orders, he carried a camera with him on his route from Normandy to Berlin. He landed on Gold Beach, Normandy, on 15th June, 1944. His travels to Berlin took him Falaise (France, August 25th), Brussels (13th September), Geldrop (1st November), Dingden (March 31st, 1945), Minden (25th April), Geest on Elbe (May 9th), Babelsberg (June 28th) and Berlin (June 30th). In Berlin, he was there before most other troops, and so wandered around the sites you see here. He helped set up the communications system for the Potsdam Conference at the end of July. All in all, he took some photos that look amazing now, and he lived to tell the tale!
